While there is no Joost Klein, we do have a programme that firmly embraces the theme of our city festival!
We kick off on Thursday August 22nd with the Mechelen Cover Cup competition. Four Mechelen cover bands – Klaxon, Tolk, Frituur Paula and Pretzel The Cookies – will compete against each other to secure a spot at Parkpop edition 2025 For an extra challenge, they will each cover a Eurosong song of their choice! The public can help decide the winner by voting with a drinks cup, the guarantee of which will be donated to four charities chosen by the bands themselves.
On Friday August 23rd, the Feestpodium (Ijzerenleen) will be all about Eurodance! And we are proud of our Belgian pioneers in the genre! So we take you back to the 90s and nillies with performances by legendary DJs, producers and dance artists: Jan Vervloet, Lasgo, DJ Wout, The Mackenzie and DJ Kurt Verheyen aka Dj Kürtzi.
And on Sunday August 25th, none other than Eurovision sensation Gustaph will grace the Big Stage, while Casco Phil will provide a full European programme on the Mechelen Stage on the Cultuurplein. A unique opportunity to enjoy 500 years of European music, ranging from folk music to classical pieces by Europe’s greatest composers
