After the successful ode to Polish literature, this year the Mechelen-based non-profit organisation Cultural Bridges in Belgium (CBiB) is organising Spanish Voices/Voces en Español together with theater arsenaal, international literary house Passa Porta, and Construct Europe. Spaanse Stemmen / Voces en Español will be a prelude for Construct Europe. Our country takes over from current president Spain, which makes december the best imaginable moment to turn the spotlight on Spanish-language literature and culture.
Spaanse Stemmen/Voces en Españolwill be a bilangual event. Authors read from their own work in Spanish, while we make sure a Dutch translation can be seen on a big screen. This will be followed by short interviews on language and writing. Interludes will present the talent of musician Emma Wills, inspired by Spanish music.
